I invite you to join me on Sunday morning, August 29th, to dedicate a plaque in memory of the devastation and lives lost five years ago. The ceremony will begin at 9:30 am at the site of the London Avenue Canal breach. We will meet at Mirabeau Avenue between Warrington Drive and Pratt Drive. Bring a bell to ring at 9:38 am, the moment of the levee breach. On the fifth anniversary of Katrina we will remember the tragedy with sorrow, but we also look forward to better days for New Orleans. We have new leadership, new ideas, and a new opportunity.
