Volunteer Opportunity: PNOLA Bowl-A-Thon
04/15/2009 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Phoenix of New Orleans (PNOLA) is a local non-profit that provides rebuilding assistance to families who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina and cannot afford to return home otherwise.

Recovery efforts focus primarily on the revitalization of Lower Mid-City, but in order to continue serving those in need, help is needed.

The Bowl-A-Thon is designed to provide community members with an opportunity to support the recovery effort by raising funds and awareness for the Phoenix of New Orleans. Participants will even have a chance to involve their social networks by requesting sponsorships from family, friends and colleagues. Sponsors make pledges, either in the form of a flat donation or on a 'per pin' basis, to the organization on behalf of the Bowl-A-Thon participants.

Participants will bowl three free games, showing their stuff while earning their pledges. Those who pledge contributions are also welcome to join the fun and encouraged to cheer on the bowler they back.

There will be free food, live music provided by local funk band Groovesect, a cash bar and the chance to win one of the many prizes donated by local businesses.

Location:
Mid-City Lanes Rock 'N Bowl
